Oil Seal Replacement - Valve Oil Seal

SR engine (SR20DE/SR20DET) per SR section header.

Valve Oil Seal

    Remove accelerator cable.
  2. 2
    Remove rocker cover and oil separator.
  3. 3
    Remove camshafts and sprockets. Refer to "Removal" in "TIMING CHAIN".
  4. 4
    Remove spark plugs.
  5. 5
    Install air hose adapter into spark plug hole and apply air pressure to hold valves in place. Apply a pressure of 490 kPa (4.9 bar, 5 kg/cm2, 71 psi).

    Remove rocker arm, rocker arm guide and shim.

    Remove valve spring with Tool. Piston concerned should be set at T.D.C. to prevent valve from falling.

    Valve spring compressor tool in use on the cylinder head to remove a valve spring. Labels 'KV10115900 Attachment' and 'KV10116200 Compressor assembly' identify the tools.
