Clean upper face of cylinder block and measure the distortion.

If out of specification, resurface it.
If necessary, replace cylinder block.

    Check for scratches or seizure. If seizure is found, hone bore.

    Using a bore gauge, measure cylinder bore for wear, out-of-round or taper. Standard bore diameter: CD17 80.000 - 80.050 mm (3.1496 - 3.1516 in); CD20 84.500 - 84.550 mm (3.3268 - 3.3287 in).
