Oil Pan - Removal and Installation

Removal

    Remove undercovers.
    Underbody view showing center member, front tube, and undercover with bolt locations marked for removal. Labels: 'Center member', 'Front tube', 'Under cover'.

    Drain engine oil.

    Remove center member.
  4. 4
    Remove front exhaust tube.
  5. 5
    Remove oil pan. (1) Insert Tool between cylinder block and oil pan. (2) Slide Tool by tapping its side with a hammer, and remove oil pan.
    Be careful not to damage aluminum mating face.
    Do not insert screwdriver, or oil pan flange will be deformed.
    Tool KV10111100 inserted between cylinder block and oil pan to separate them. Hand holding the tool against the mating face.

Installation

  1. 1
    Before installing oil pan, remove all traces of liquid gasket from mating surface using a scraper. Also remove traces of liquid gasket from mating surface of cylinder block.

    Apply a continuous bead of liquid gasket to mating surface of oil pan.
    Use Genuine Liquid Gasket or equivalent.
