Bolt tightening/loosening sequence differs between 2WD models and 4WD models.

Removal

  1. 1
    Remove engine under cover.

    Drain engine oil.
  3. 3
    Remove steel oil pan bolts.

    Remove steel oil pan.
    Be careful not to damage aluminum mating surface.
    Do not insert screwdriver, or oil pan flange will be deformed.

      Insert Tool between aluminum oil pan and steel oil pan.
      Tool KV10111100 being inserted between the aluminum oil pan and steel oil pan. Star markers indicate insertion points.

      Slide Tool by tapping on the side of the Tool with a hammer.
      Tool KV10111100 positioned along the oil pan flange; star markers show where to tap the side of the tool with a hammer to slide it.

      Remove steel oil pan.
