Removal

This removal is the same procedure as those for timing chain. Refer to "Removal" in "TIMING CHAIN".

Disassembly

    Remove valve components with Tool.
    Illustration of removing valve components from the cylinder head using a special tool (valve spring compressor). The lever-type tool is positioned over a valve on the head.

    Remove valve oil seal with a suitable tool.

If beyond the specified limit, replace it or resurface it.
Resurfacing limit: The resurfacing limit of cylinder head is determined by the cylinder block resurfacing in an engine. Amount of cylinder head resurfacing is "A". Amount of cylinder block resurfacing is "B".
After resurfacing cylinder head, check that camshaft rotates freely by hand. If resistance is felt, cylinder head must be replaced.
