    Also remove traces of liquid gasket from mating surface of cylinder block.
    A scraper being used to remove traces of liquid gasket from the cylinder block mating surface. Labeled 'Scraper'.

    Apply a continuous bead of liquid gasket to mating surface of oil pan. (Use Genuine Liquid Gasket or equivalent.)
    Be sure liquid gasket is 3.5 to 4.5 mm (0.138 to 0.177 in) wide.
    Applying a continuous bead of liquid gasket to the oil pan mating surface using a tube presser. Labeled 'Tube presser'.

    Apply liquid gasket to inner sealing surface instead of surface where there is no groove at bolt hole.
    Attach oil pan to cylinder block within five minutes after coating.
    Wait at least 30 minutes before refilling engine oil and engine coolant.
