Removal

  1. 1
    Set No. 1 cylinder at T.D.C. on its compression stroke.
    Crankshaft pulley/sprocket with a leader line pointing to the 'White painted mark (T.D.C.)' alignment mark used to set No. 1 cylinder at top dead center on its compression stroke.

    Remove timing belt.
    Timing belt tensioner area with arrows labeled 'Tighten' and 'Loosen' indicating the direction to turn the tensioner pulley counter-clockwise to loosen, then tighten the bolt; camshaft sprocket visible at right.

    Loosen tensioner pulley bolt, turn tensioner pulley counter-clockwise then tighten bolt.

    Remove camshaft sprocket plate.

    Remove idler pulley.
