Bearing Replacement

    Remove bearing with a suitable tool.
    Do not scratch inner surface of connecting rod.
    Removing the small-end bearing from a connecting rod using a suitable tool in a press. Label: 'Suitable tool'.

    Install new bearing with oil holes aligned correctly.

    Ream bore using a suitable tool. Ream bore: CD17 24.025 - 24.038 mm (0.9459 - 0.9464 in); CD20 25.025 - 25.038 mm (0.9852 - 0.9857 in).

Crankshaft Inspection

    Check crankshaft journals and pins for score, bias, wear or cracks. If faults are minor, correct with fine crocus cloth.

    Check journals and pins with a micrometer for taper and out-of-round. Out-of-round (X - Y): Less than 0.005 mm (0.0002 in). Taper (A - B): Less than 0.005 mm (0.0002 in).
