    Remove distributor head.
    Be careful not to drop the two support springs and guide pins.
    Top section of the VE-type injection pump distributor head being removed. Callout arrows label 'Support springs' (upper) and 'Guide pin' (lower).

    Remove plunger assembly.
    Lift plunger, along with control sleeve, shim, spring seat and plunger spring.
    Plunger assembly being lifted out of the pump. Callout arrows label 'Control sleeve', 'Shim and spring seat', 'Plunger spring' and 'Spring seat'.

    Loosen left and right governor pivot bolts.
    Injection pump with special tool KV11214270 engaged on the governor pivot bolts on the left and right sides. Shaft extends to the right.

    Remove governor lever assembly.
    Avoid pulling on start spring and start idle spring.
    Governor lever assembly being removed from the pump body, with a hand holding the assembly.

    Remove shim, cam disc, spring and driving disc.
    Removal of the shim, cam disc, spring and driving disc. A hand holds the round cam disc / driving disc assembly with raised pins visible on its face.
