EF & EC-101flowchartApplies to models with catalyzer and E.G.R.: GA13DS, GA14DS & GA16DS.
GA13DS, GA14DS & GA16DS
Diagnostic Procedure 7 (Cont'd)
Throttle valve switch diagnostic flow
1
INSPECTION START
2
A: CHECK OVERALL FUNCTION. 1) Start engine and run it at idle. 2) Check voltage between E.C.U. terminal (16) and ground. Voltage: Accelerator pedal is depressed — Battery voltage; Accelerator pedal is released — Approximately 0V
O.K.
INSPECTION END
N.G.
3
B: CHECK POWER SUPPLY. 1) Turn ignition switch "OFF". 2) Disconnect E.C.U. harness connector and carburetor harness connector (F7). 3) Check harness continuity between E.C.U. terminal (16) and terminal (a). Continuity should exist.
N.G.
Repair harness or connectors.
O.K.
4
C: CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT. 1) Check harness continuity between terminal (b) and engine ground. Continuity should exist.
N.G.
same as step 3
O.K.
5
CHECK COMPONENT (Throttle valve switch). Refer to "Electrical Components Inspection". (See page EF & EC-145.)
N.G.
Replace throttle valve switch.
O.K.
Check E.C.U. pin terminals for damage or the connection of E.C.U. harness connector.
