Electrical Components Inspection (Cont'd)

ACCELERATOR PUMP CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE

  1. 1
    Disconnect solenoid harness connector.
  2. 2
    Connect solenoid harness connector to battery.
    Accelerator pump control solenoid on the engine connected to a battery (BAT). An arrow points to the accelerator pump control solenoid. Labeled 'Accelerator pump control solenoid'.

    Check "click" sound is heard from solenoid when battery is connected and disconnected. If N.G., replace accelerator pump control solenoid.

MIXTURE HEATER

  1. 1
    Disconnect mixture heater harness connector.
  2. 2
    Check resistance between terminals Ⓐ and Ⓑ. Continuity should exist.
    Mixture heater connector and mixture heater on the engine, with an ohmmeter (Ω) symbol indicating a resistance check between terminals. Labeled 'Mixture heater connector' and 'Mixture heater'.

If N.G., replace mixture heater.

MIXTURE HEATER RELAY

  1. 1
    Disconnect mixture heater relay.
  2. 2
    Check continuity between terminals Ⓒ and Ⓓ as shown below.

12V direct current supplied between terminals Ⓐ and Ⓑ
Continuity between terminals Ⓒ and ⒹYes
No supply
Continuity between terminals Ⓒ and ⒹNo
If N.G., replace mixture heater relay.

POWER STEERING OIL PRESSURE SWITCH

  1. 1
    Disconnect power steering oil pressure switch harness connector.
  2. 2
    Check continuity between terminals.
    Power steering oil pressure switch harness connector with an ohmmeter (Ω) symbol indicating continuity check between terminals. A neutral switch is also labeled. Note: steering wheel is not being turned. Labeled 'Neutral switch' and 'Steering wheel is not being turned'.
