Releasing Fuel Pressure

Releasing Fuel Pressure (with CONSULT)

  1. 1
    Turn ignition switch "ON".
    CONSULT screen capture for FUEL PRES RELEASE (fuel pressure release) work support mode. Text reads 'FUEL PUMP WILL STOP BY TOUCHING START DURING IDLE. CRANK A FEW TIMES AFTER ENGINE STALL' with a START button.

    Perform "FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE" in "WORK SUPPORT" mode with CONSULT.

    Start engine.
  4. 4
    After engine stalls, crank it two or three times to release all fuel pressure.
  5. 5
    Turn ignition switch off.

Releasing Fuel Pressure (without CONSULT)

    Remove fuse for fuel pump.

    Start engine.

    After engine stalls, crank it two or three times to release all fuel pressure.

    Turn ignition switch off and re-insert fuel pump fuse.

    Release fuel pressure to zero.
  2. 2
    Disconnect fuel hose between fuel filter and fuel tube (engine side).
  3. 3
    Install pressure gauge between fuel filter and fuel tube.
  4. 4
    Start engine and check for fuel leakage.
