TROUBLE DIAGNOSES

Electrical Components Inspection (Cont'd)

RESISTOR

  1. 1
    Disconnect resistor harness connector.
Resistor illustration. Shows the resistor harness connector and an ohmmeter (Ω) connected to check resistance between terminals ⓐ and ⓑ.
    SEF334H
  2. 2
Check resistance between terminals ⓐ and ⓑ.
Resistancebetween terminals ⓐ and ⓑ
Approximately 2.2
If N.G., replace resistor.

POWER STEERING OIL PRESSURE SWITCH

  1. 1
Disconnect power steering oil pressure switch harness connector.
Power steering oil pressure switch illustration. Harness connector disconnected (DISCONNECT symbol), terminals ⓐ, ⓑ, and an ohmmeter (Ω) checks continuity between terminals ⓐ and ⓑ.
    SEF344K
  2. 2
    Start engine.
  3. 3
Check continuity between terminals ⓐ and ⓑ.

ContinuityYes
Steering wheel is not being turned
ContinuityNo
If N.G., replace power steering oil pressure switch.

DROPPING RESISTOR

  1. 1
    Disconnect dropping resistor harness connector.
Dropping resistor illustration. Shows the harness connector disconnected (DISCONNECT symbol), multiple terminals ⓐ–ⓕ, and an ohmmeter (Ω) checking resistance between terminal pairs.
    SEF295L
  2. 2
Check resistance as shown in the figure.
