Diagnostic Procedure 15 (Cont'd) - A.I.V. Control Solenoid Valve
EF & EC-119flowchartApplies to GA13DS, GA14DS & GA16DS engines with catalyzer and E.G.R.
E.C.C. TROUBLE DIAGNOSES (Models with catalyzer and E.G.R.)
Diagnostic Procedure 15 (Cont'd)
NOTE
Applicable to models GA13DS, GA14DS & GA16DS.
Diagnostic Procedure 15 - A.I.V. Control Solenoid Valve
1
INSPECTION START
2
CHECK OVERALL FUNCTION. 1) Start engine and warm it up sufficiently. 2) Run engine at about 2,500 rpm for about 5 minutes under no-load. [A] 3) Keep engine speed at 2,000 rpm under no-load, check voltage between terminal f and terminal i on check connector. Make sure that needle of voltmeter fluctuates between approximately 0V and battery voltage more than 5 times during 10 seconds. If N.G., go to Diagnostic Procedure 5. 4) Release accelerator pedal fully, and run engine at idle. [B] 5) Listen to A.I.V. operating sound. At idle: A.I.V. should operate. Except at idle: A.I.V. should not operate.
O.K.
INSPECTION END
N.G.
3
CHECK VACUUM SOURCE TO A.I.V. 1) Disconnect vacuum hose to A.I.V. 2) Make sure that vacuum exists under the following conditions. At idle: Vacuum should exist. Except at idle: Vacuum should not exist.
N.G.
CHECK COMPONENT (A.I.V.). Refer to Electrical Components Inspection. (See page EF & EC-148.)
O.K.
4
CHECK CONTROL FUNCTION. 1) Check voltage between E.C.U. terminal 115 and ground. Voltage: At idle Approximately 0.8V. Except at idle Battery voltage
N.G.
CHECK VACUUM HOSE. Check vacuum hose for clogging, cracks and proper connection.
O.K. (A)
