TROUBLE DIAGNOSES

Electrical Components Inspection (Cont'd)

AIR FLOW METER (Cont'd)

  1. 5
If N.G., remove air flow meter from air duct. Check hot wire for damage or dust.
Top view of the air flow meter hot wire element; an arrow points to the hot wire located in the bore, for inspecting the hot wire for damage or dust.

ENGINE TEMPERATURE SENSOR

  1. 1
Disconnect engine temperature sensor harness connector.
  2. 2
Check resistance as shown in the figure.
Illustration of the engine temperature sensor with an ohmmeter (Ω) connected across its two terminals to check resistance.

Engine temperature sensor resistance

20 (68)
Resistance kΩ2.1 - 2.9
50 (122)
Resistance kΩ0.68 - 1.0
80 (176)
Resistance kΩ0.30 - 0.33
If N.G., replace engine temperature sensor.

IGNITION COIL

  1. 1
    Disconnect ignition coil harness connector.
  2. 2
Check resistance as shown in the figure.
Illustration of the ignition coil with terminals numbered 1, 2 and 3. An ohmmeter (Ω) is shown connected to terminals 1 and 2. A TS (technician special / disconnect) symbol is at upper left. Labelled 'Ignition coil'.
