AUTOMATIC TEMPERATURE CONTROL (A.T.C.) AIR CLEANER SYSTEM

The automatic temperature control system maintains the temperature of air entering the carburetor. In addition, the automatic temperature control system improves the warm-up characteristics of the engine and prevents the fuel from icing. The automatic temperature control system is controlled by the inlet air temperature and the load condition of the engine. The inlet air temperature is detected by the sensor, installed in the air cleaner box, and the vacuum motor is actuated by the intake manifold vacuum.

When the engine is not warmed up sufficiently, since the A.T.C. temperature sensor passes the intake manifold vacuum to the vacuum motor, the motor actuates and hot air is introduced into the air cleaner. In this step, the higher the intake manifold vacuum is, the wider the air control valve opens.
