Releasing Fuel Pressure

Releasing Fuel Pressure (with CONSULT)

  1. 1
    Turn ignition switch "ON".
    CONSULT display screen showing 'FUEL PRES RELEASE' with note text 'FUEL PUMP WILL STOP BY TOUCHING START DURING IDLE CRANK A FEW TIMES AFTER ENGINE STALL' and a 'START' button at the bottom.

    Perform "FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE" in "WORK SUPPORT" mode with CONSULT.

    Start engine.
  4. 4
    After engine stalls, crank it two or three times to release all fuel pressure.
  5. 5
    Turn ignition switch off.

Releasing Fuel Pressure (without CONSULT)

    Remove fuse for fuel pump.
    Fuse box diagram identifying the 'Fuel pump fuse (15A)'. Arrows labeled 'UP' indicate orientation for both '(L.H.D.)' (top) and '(R.H.D.)' (bottom) configurations.

    Start engine.
  3. 3
    After engine stalls, crank it two or three times to release all fuel pressure.
  4. 4
    Turn ignition switch off and reconnect fuel pump relay.

    Release fuel pressure to zero.
  2. 2
    Disconnect fuel hose between fuel filter and fuel tube (engine side).
  3. 3
    Install pressure gauge between fuel filter and fuel tube.
  4. 4
    Start engine and check for fuel leakage.
