Diagnostic Procedure 18 (Cont'd)
Diagnostic Procedure 18 (Cont'd) - Power Steering Oil Pressure Switch
1
INSPECTION START
2
A. CHECK CONTROL FUNCTION. 1) Start engine and warm it up sufficiently. 2) Check voltage between E.C.U. terminal 15 and ground under the following conditions. Voltage: When steering wheel is turned quickly: Approximately 0V. Except above: Approximately 11V.
O.K.
INSPECTION END
N.G.
3
B. CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT. 1) Stop engine. 2) Disconnect power steering oil pressure switch harness connector. 3) Check harness continuity between terminal 8 and engine ground. Continuity should exist.
N.G.
Repair harness or connectors.
O.K.
4
C. CHECK INPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT. 1) Disconnect E.C.U. harness connector. 2) Check harness continuity between E.C.U. terminal 15 and terminal 8. Continuity should exist.
N.G.
same as step 3
O.K.
5
CHECK COMPONENT (Power steering oil pressure switch). Refer to "Electrical Components Inspection". (See page EF & EC-146.)
N.G.
Replace power steering oil pressure switch.
O.K.
Check E.C.U. pin terminals for damage or the connection of E.C.U. harness connector.
