Ignition timing differs by engine: 2° B.T.D.C. (GA16DS), 0° B.T.D.C. (GA14DS). Idle speed differs by transmission: M/T 750±50 rpm, A/T 850±50 rpm in "N".

Disconnect boost pressure sensor vacuum hose and install blind plug to hose.

Loosen distributor securing bolt, and adjust ignition timing by turning distributor, until ignition timing is 2° B.T.D.C. 2° B.T.D.C. (GA16DS) 0° B.T.D.C. (GA14DS) (in "N" position)

Connect boost pressure sensor vacuum hose.

Race engine (2,000 to 3,000 rpm) 2 or 3 times under no-load and run engine at idle speed.

Check idle speed. IDLE SPEED: M/T: 750±50 rpm A/T: 850±50 rpm (in "N" position)

Adjust idle speed by turning throttle adjusting screw.

Turn off engine and disconnect exhaust gas sensor harness connector and A.I.V. control solenoid valve harness connector.

Remove test-take off plug and insert "CO" meter probe into test-take off tube sealing with a suitable cap.

Start engine.

Race engine (2,000 to 3,000 rpm) 2 or 3 times under no-load and run engine at idle speed.
