E.C.C. Trouble Diagnoses (Models with catalyzer without E.G.R.) — Diagnostic Procedure 2 (Cont'd)

EF & EC-55flowchart

Applies to GA13DS, GA14DS & GA16DS. Connector references differ for L.H.D. (E75, E89) vs R.H.D. (E56, E81) models.

Diagnostic Procedure 2 (Cont'd)

1
INSPECTION START
2
CHECK POWER SUPPLY. 1) Disconnect engine temperature sensor harness connector. 2) Turn ignition switch "ON". 3) Check voltage between terminal B and ground. Voltage: Approximately 5V
N.G.
Check the following. • Harness connectors E75, E89 (L.H.D. models) • Harness connectors E56, E81 (R.H.D. models) • Harness continuity between E.C.U. and engine temperature sensor. If N.G., repair harness or connectors.
Check the following. • Harness connectors E75, E89 (L.H.D. models) • Harness connectors E56, E81 (R.H.D. models) • Harness continuity between E.C.U. and engine temperature sensor. If N.G., repair harness or connectors.
O.K.
3
CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT. 1) Turn ignition switch "OFF". 2) Check harness continuity between terminal G and body ground. Continuity should exist.
N.G.
same as step 2
O.K.
4
CHECK COMPONENT (Engine temperature sensor). Refer to "Electrical Components Inspection". (See page EF & EC-143.)
N.G.
Replace engine temperature sensor.
O.K.
Check E.C.U. pin terminals for damage or the connection of E.C.U. harness connector.
