Diagnostic Procedure 27 - Detonation Sensor

INSPECTION START

CHECK INPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT. A) 1) Disconnect E.C.U. harness connector, E.F.I. harness connector and engine harness connector. 2) Check harness continuity between terminal (a) and E.C.U. terminal 27. Continuity should exist. 3) Disconnect detonation sensor harness connector. B) 4) Check harness continuity between terminal (a) and terminal (f). Continuity should exist.

Repair harness or connectors.

CHECK COMPONENT (Detonation sensor). Refer to "Electrical Components Inspection". (See page EF & EC-634.)

Replace detonation sensor.

Check E.C.U. pin terminals for damage or the connection of E.C.U. harness connector.

FINAL CHECK

Erase the self-diagnosis memory.

Perform test drive.

Perform self-diagnosis again.

Recheck E.C.U. pin terminals for damage or the connection of E.C.U. harness connector.
