Injector Removal and Installation (Cont'd)
EF & EC-640prose procedureSeparate tightening torque procedures for SR20DE vs SR20DET. SR20DE pushes out injector; SR20DET removes injector.
Injector Removal and Installation (Cont'd)
- 7SR20DE: Push out any malfunctioning injector from fuel tube assembly. SR20DET: Remove any malfunctioning injector from fuel tube assembly.Do not extract injector by pinching connector.
SEF312L - 8Replace or clean injector as necessary.
SEF297L - 9Install injector to fuel tube assembly.Always replace O-rings and insulators with new ones.Lubricate O-rings with a smear of silicone oil.
- 10Install injectors with fuel tube assembly to intake manifold. Tighten fuel tube bolts to the specified torque. Tightening procedure: (SR20DE) 1) Tighten all bolts to 9.3 to 10.8 N·m (0.95 to 1.1 kg-m, 6.9 to 8.0 ft-lb). 2) Tighten all bolts to 21 to 26 N·m (2.1 to 2.7 kg-m, 15 to 20 ft-lb). (SR20DET) 1) Tighten all bolts to 16 to 19 N·m (1.6 to 1.9 kg-m, 12 to 14 ft-lb).
SEF313L - 11Install fuel hoses to fuel tube assembly.Lubricate fuel hoses with a smear of silicone oil.
- 12Reinstall any parts removed in reverse order of removal.CAUTION: After properly connecting fuel hose to fuel tube and injector assembly, check connections for fuel leaks.
