Chassis and Body Maintenance — Brake System, Brake Fluid, Brake Booster, Disc Brake
MA-62prose procedureRotor thickness specs vary by brake model: CL18C, CL18VD, AD22VF, AD7HA, CL9HA.
Checking Brake System
Check brake fluid lines and parking brake cables for improper attachment and for leaks, chafing, abrasions, deterioration, etc.
Changing Brake Fluid
- 1Drain brake fluid from each air bleeder valve.
SBR992 - 2Refill until new brake fluid comes out from each air bleeder valve. Use same procedure as in bleeding hydraulic system to refill brake fluid. Refer to section BR.Refill with recommended brake fluid "DOT 3".Never reuse drained brake fluid.Be careful not to splash brake fluid on painted areas.
Checking Brake Booster, Vacuum Hoses, Connections and Check Valve
Check vacuum lines, connections and check valve for improper attachment, air tightness, chafing and deterioration.
Checking Disc Brake
Check condition of disc brake components.
ROTOR
Check condition and thickness.
