Changing Engine Coolant (Cont'd) / Checking Cooling System

MA-19prose procedure

Coolant capacity varies by M/T vs A/T, with/without heater, 2WD vs 4WD model, and hot areas. 4WD column not applicable (—) for A/T.

Changing Engine Coolant (Cont'd)

  1. 14
Fill radiator and reservoir tank with coolant up to specified level following step 6 through step 9. Follow instructions attached to anti-freeze container for mixing ratio of anti-freeze to water.

Pour coolant through coolant filler neck slowly to allow air in system to escape.

Changing Engine Coolant (Cont'd)

  1. 15
    If necessary, add coolant.

Checking Cooling System

CHECKING HOSES

Check hoses for improper attachment and for leaks, cracks, damage, loose connections, chafing and deterioration.

CHECKING RADIATOR CAP

Apply pressure to radiator cap with cap tester to see if it is satisfactory.
Radiator cap relief pressure(0.78 - 0.98 bar, 0.8 - 1.0 kg/cm², 11 - 14 psi)
78 - 98kPa
Pull the negative-pressure valve to open it. Check that it closes completely when released.
