Engine Maintenance — Engine Coolant Change (Cont'd) / Cooling System Check (CD)
MA-53prose procedureCD17 and CD20 diesel engine radiator cap relief pressures differ.
Engine Coolant Change (Cont'd)
- 8Securely close air bleeder.
- 9Fill reservoir tank with coolant up to "MAX" level.
SMA412B - 10Warm up engine at about 2,000 rpm to normal operating temperature.
- 11Stop engine and allow it to cool.
- 12Check coolant level and refill reservoir tank if necessary.
INFORMATION
NOTE
For more detailed procedure of filling up radiator with coolant, refer to LC section.
Cooling System Check
HOSE AND CLAMP CHECK
Check hoses for improper attachment, leaks, cracks, damage, loose connections, chafing and deterioration.
Radiator Cap Check
- 1Check relief pressure with cap tester. Replace radiator cap if pressure is not within the specified values.
SLC613 - 2Pull the negative-pressure valve to open it, and check that it closes completely when released.

CAUTION
Use of higher pressure than that specified value may cause damage to radiator.
