Engine Maintenance - Checking Drive Belts
MA-17prose procedureGA series engine (section tab 'GA'). Two belt-routing layouts shown: 'With power steering' and 'Standard' (without P/S). Deflection limits differ for alternator with vs without power steering.
Checking Drive Belts
- 1Inspect for cracks, fraying, wear or oil adhesion. If necessary, replace with a new one.
SMA357C - 2Inspect drive belt deflections by pushing on the belt midway between pulleys.Adjust if belt deflections exceed the limit.Inspect drive belt deflections when engine is cold.
