Engine Lubrication System — Oil Pressure Check / Oil Pump

CD17 uses a new oil pump gasket; CD20 applies liquid gasket to oil pump. CD20 has front engine mounting bracket removal in step 2.

    Check oil level.
  2. 2
    Remove oil pressure switch.

    Install pressure gauge.

    Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
  5. 5
    Check oil pressure with engine running under no-load.
  6. 6
    Install oil pressure switch with sealant.

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Oil Pump Removal and Installation

    Drain engine coolant and engine oil.
  2. 2
    Remove upper radiator hose, drive belts, crank pulley, timing belt covers, front engine mounting (CD20) bracket and timing belt.
  3. 3
    Remove exhaust front tube, timing belt pulley and rear engine gusset (bar type), then remove oil pan.

    Remove oil pump assembly with oil strainer.
    Oil pump assembly removal/installation with tightening torque symbol noting 12-16 N·m (1.2-1.6 kg-m, 9-12 ft-lb).

    Reinstall any part removed. Refill engine oil and engine coolant. Install new oil pump gasket (CD17). Apply liquid gasket to oil pump (CD20). Apply liquid gasket to oil pan. Apply liquid gasket to both ends of oil pan oil seals. Install oil pan, fitting oil seals in the correct position.
